Get It! for Single Bassoon (optional percussion)

This is a piece I requested from my percussionist friend and colleague Gene Koshinski. I wanted something fun, yet challenging to play, and that the audience would enjoy listening to as well. It was originally composed for solo bassoon, but for a performance in Lyon, France in January of 2011 we added a percussion part and we decided it really added a lot to the piece.

The title track on the album Nostalgia featuring music by Justin Henry Rubin, composed for me. This was the first composition my good friend Justin wrote for me.
Recital performance

Azuki Suite-III. Play/Recital performance

From my Faculty Artist Recital at UMD on May 3, 2010. This is a newly commissioned work from California composer Stephen Moellering depicting the day in the life of his dog, Azuki Bean. This movement describes two small dogs (interaction of the bassoon and piano) wrestling around playfully. Tracy Lipke-Perry joins me on piano.

Sonata for Bassoon and Piano-III. Rondo/Recital at UMD May 2010

Another composition by Stephen Moellering, this time one from 2003 that I asked him to pull out and revise so that I could add it to my recent tour. The final movement of the Sonata; this one is more driving, with a closing coda that brings back all of the themes of the previous movements. Again, Tracy Lipke-Perry on piano.
